Wood Cookstove Cooking

This is a blog about cooking on a woodburning cookstove. Here you will find recipes, methods, other uses, and miscellaneous information about using a woodburning range. I've searched the net for any and all information about cooking on one of these amazing appliances, and I've found a lot of interesting things, but none of them have been what I've been looking for. Therefore, this is my attempt at creating what I've been in search of.

About Me

My photo
Jim
My wife Nancy and I are the fourth generation of my family to live on our Iowa farm. I am a Christian, a hobby farmer, a former English teacher, and freelance writer/editor. I've always been interested in cooking on a woodburning range. My great-great aunt Meme used to tell me about her experiences with a woodburning range as we played with the toy stove that she and her sister had been given in the early 1900s. I've been cooking over wood since 1997 when I purchased a Qualified Range from Lehman Hardware. In 2009, we put up a summer kitchen to house our 1920s green and cream Riverside Bakewell, and in March 2012 we replaced the Qualified with a Margin Gem cookstove.
