I'd like to give your recipe a try sometime. Merry Christmas!Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01928066388810835369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2486194406227682414.post-25518962875850898812012-12-24T13:23:24.524-08:002012-12-24T13:23:24.524-08:00I googled figgy pudding as my music students were ...I googled figgy pudding as my music students were curious what it was as we sang various carols the week of break. They were grossed out when I read the ingredient list - I can only imagine what they would do if they saw these pictures! I hope I can find them the next time I am asked about figgy pudding!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14176040657921344526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2486194406227682414.post-16540446210109002822012-12-24T06:54:00.880-08:002012-12-24T06:54:00.880-08:00I was smiling and laughing while reading your post...I was smiling and laughing while reading your post. I have collected thru the years a couple of these steamers-they are really fun to use, and I have not made anything in them for some time now.
I agree with the suet-I use it for the birds instead-lol I don't remember my recipe now, but I know I decided not to put the suet in there-we love homemade English fruitcakes, so I changed up the recipe some how-which I know defeats the purpose of making a traditional recipe. A friend years ago, had a family sauce that she made to go over plum puddings and such-but it was very very rich-with sugar and cream.
Merry Christmas Jimkathyinozarkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01644138355524729156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2486194406227682414.post-92090629571767825482012-12-24T05:28:48.449-08:002012-12-24T05:28:48.449-08:00Bless your heart for continuing the tradition. At all.

I tried my hand at a suet pudding recipe recently [Sussex Pond Pudding], but since I couldn't find suet easily, I used butter instead. Artery clogging quantities of butter. The end result after all that steaming was darn good!
